WDTN18

WDTN18 is a well pad located in Battelle District, Monongalia County, WV. Well pad construction started in spring of 2023. There will be a total of twelve (12) Marcellus wells on this well pad. Drilling of the initial six (6) wells was completed in 2023. Air monitoring began in June of 2024. These six (6) wells were hydraulically fractured in July 2024, and they were turned in line in October 2024 (Trip 1). The remaining wells were drilled in August of 2025 (Trip 2). Air monitoring for these wells began in July of 2025.

Air Quality Monitoring

Upwind and downwind air quality monitoring equipment measuring PM2.5 (particulate matter) and VOCs known as BTEX was installed within 500’ of the well pad.

The prevailing wind direction for this region is from the southwest. CNX positioned the PM2.5 monitors such that one would be subject to winds from upwind of the well pad and the other would be in the path of wind traveling across the well pad (downwind).
